Not a permanent trade .... But a trade where each of you can find out if you like the other;s gun enough to buy one for yourself ? Sounds like a good idea to me. A good way to test out guns.
The 12-15 people I shoot with have shared every gun they have brought to a match. We have lent out barrels, LDC, Shrouds, Regulators, bottles, pellets , Stocks. Great group of people!

I would love to try that Rainstorm. From your pics, that is one of the most accurate airguns in the world.
Yrrah has been shooting 100 yards groups for years on this forum. I consider him one of the best marksman on here, he gets excited about a 5 shot group at a half inch. Your 40 shots at a half inch at a 100 yards on a single fill is really unbelievable. I see a Rainstorm coming my way in the near future!
I've done it that way ONCE!!!....lol. It turned out cool and all was fine. But i'd rather do it while we are all together, i'm pretty ANAL when it comes to loaning my stuff out overnight or longer. A buddy begged to ride my bike and drive my car once for 3 years and everytime it was..............NOPE!....lol
It would be hard to know one guys care of a gun compared to another one! I am sure things would probably go good, in my thinking if I had someone elses gun, I would take care of it better than I do my own, but that is just me! The only thing that would bother me is shipping it out the way some have been handled lately who knows! Fedex and UPS took a hit here a while back on youtube on some of there special delievery techniques! some would have made good basket ball players!
I am DEEP into high end home audio, and my business is even high end home audio. I often ship one of my DACs or CD players out to trade with others temporarily. That way we both get to hear different gear all of the time.
So I was thinking why not do it with airguns ? Sure ... there is the cost of shipping, but I would be willing to pay $65 or $70 to try a $1,500 gun defore I bought one.
I have the Air Ranger and a Tarantula, these are just a couple that I've kept after selling off many. You know trying to find that airgun that puts pellets, on top of pellets. Well needless to say I'm still searchin, but these are earning their keep so far, until something bigger and badder comes along. LOL
Those are two really nice guns ! I hope to own a Tarantula one day as well. I definitely understand the search for the ultimate pellet stacker. I am lucky to own three of them, but I sure did go through buying and selling a lot of guns to find those three ! Two of them are not for sale for any reasonable price, and one I have not perfectly decided yet, but it most likely will become permanent in my collection too.
It seems I always have at least one air rifle kicking around that I bought on a whim or just don't like anymore.
If a friend asks to try an airgun to see if they like the hobby I'll gift them one of these (the lastest was the Chinese B9 bullpup with Tasco red-dot that hasn't been used in over a year).
My experiences loaning gear has been less than satisfactory.
Loaned a friend my Slavia a few years back...he was 'really sorry' that he'd somehow knocked off the front sight.
A few years back I loaned someone a $2500 lens (I'm a photographer). He didn't even mention (it was his assistant that told me afterwords) that he'd dropped it off of a stepladder. Dropped it onto grass so there were no visible marks...but the focus needed to be recalibrated.
A friend of mine once said...don't lend anything (money included) unless you are prepared to let it be a gift if need be.
Christmas a year ago i loaned a HW25L that i bought for my

grandson to an employee to let his younger sister try for one day , it came back with the fiber optic missing from the front sight . AoA said that it wasn't a normal stock item , they did get me one but it took six months , not AoA's fault but mine for loaning the gun.
Not opposed if parties are self responsible. Would not want it to ever turn into problems discussed on here and somehow I see it could happen. Would say if 2 parties really trully trust and are friends, YES. Based off of here on Yellow or anyother forum, NOT so much.
