Clearidge Ultra RM 3-9x32, Had to send it back

After much research a couple months ago I bought a Clearidge Ultra RM 3-9x32 AO mil dot. I tried for a week every day to make this scope work but I just could not get it set as clear as I like. I must be a scope snob because the optical clarity was not even close to whit I need. I liked the scope in all other areas compact eye relief mil dot reticle adjustments.

I sent the scope back and did not try another one, so don't let this sway you from buying one. It may be that I got a bad one or my eyes don't work with this scope. This is in no way a review of Clearidge scopes, it's simply my experience.

Seems every scope maker can make a bad one. All my

Clearidge scopes have been stellar! Almost a good as my Sightron SII Big Sky, but then they are much less $$$$. Did have a bad Leupold and a Weaver that had to be replaced for clarity issues. No one makes everything perfect all the time!

I really liked the scope and probably should have exchanged it but decided to move on.

I've bought three and all have been excellent, with very bright, clear optics.

you had a problem and had to deal with it.
Your problem is the first I have ever heard of with Clearidge scopes.
How was customer support?.

I got the scope from The Optic Zone and customer services was outstanding, I will buy from them in the future as I have in the past.

I think there are more that don't post unsatisfactory results than do satisfactory results because its easy an no fear of getting raked over the coals. I ask about the scope here and feel obligated to report my finding even if they are not what most find.

They did not question my decision the return the scope, they even offered to exchange it.

By any chance...

were you shooting from indoors to the outdoors, when the outdoor temp was cold? I have noticed that when I shoot from my enclosed back porch, the temperature differential causes heat waves to waft out of the slightly open slider. This makes my through-the-scope view intermittently blurry, and at moments it can get pretty bad. Meanwhile, sighting through any closed window of my house doesn't give a great view either, since there are screens in all the windows. When I take it outdoors though, it's crystal clear.

Ken that exactly what I was doing

I shoot from the front end of my garage out the back door to my target 25 yards away inside a shed in my backyard. I see what you are saying and it makes good sense. But none of my other scopes react this way, I'm in sunny California and when I tried the scope it was 60° inside and 60° outside.
