for the guys that have both Huntsman and FX400, what's your take

I would like my next gun to be either a Daystate Huntsman or a FX Royale, probably
in .177.

I have a good understanding of both guns. I'm not going to say if it's for
plinking or pest control because that would favor one gun over the other.
What I want to know is from the guys who have or have had both, which do you
like better and why?

The deciding factor may boil down to the ergonomic/handling and the overall refinement,
who knows.

Let's weigh in on all the pros and cons.

I have both rifles and they are both great. Mine are

both in .22 The Royale puts out a little more fpe than the Huntsman Classic. I got the Classic from Precision Air at their great sale price. I think AOA also has the reduced price right now for the Classic and the XL both. I like the sidelever action on the Royale for smooth quick shooting. The Royale is also a little bit quieter than the Huntsman. The great thing about the Huntsman Classic is it's size. It is about 2" shorter than the Royale 400 and about 1 pound lighter. It just begs to be picked up and carried around in the squirrel woods. The Huntsman also has a very beautiful stock, mush nicer than the 400.

Ergonomics vs shot count

February 6 2012, 6:26 PM

While I don't own a Huntsman, I have a MK4 and I owned an Airwolf. I own 2 Royales a .177 and a .22. All of them are/were terrific rifles. In comparing the Huntsman to the Royale the major distinguishing factors are ergonomics vs shot count for me.

The Huntsman is a nice light, little carbine type of rifle, while the Royale will offer double, if not more shots per fill. For me pretty much everything else is a toss up. I personally like how the Royales handle compared to my other bottle guns and a large shot count is very important to me. I don't think you can go wrong with either, but if I could only own one PCP (I wish!) it would probably be a Royale 400 in .22 caliber. I think it is just a much more versatile rifle.

but could you please tell me what kind of pellets your Royale .177 likes. I just bought one and I am going through the pellet testing phase. You can either post another thread or shoot me an email.

Thanks,

Keith.

I was going to buy one today but they didn't have any in .177. How's the gun's accuracy?
Everything working out for you?
