Cecil's estate auction: DAQ's $10, CR600's $10, CR MK's $10...

I spotted a DAQ rifle and 2 DAQ pistols with starting bids of $10. Some CR600's & MK's, starting bid, $10. All Benji's and Dan's, starting bid $10. Marauders, starting bid $10.

It's a gold mine! The better your eye, the more you'll see. I'm registered and built my watch list.

I'd like to pick up something because I met him at a couple of shoots and we had mutual friends. He was a great guy and a real gentleman. He led a very interesting life. R.I.P. Cecil.

There is so much there...

March 17 2012, 3:15 AM

you are bound to get a decent deal on something.

I know what I'm willing to spend, factoring in shipping and the chance that there may be a malfunction or broken stock in transit. I'll bet a lot of items don't get bid on much. I'm not even interested in a lot of items many covet, I have more than I need as it is.

Just don't bid on that $10 FX!

What site are you looking at because...

March 17 2012, 4:35 AM

...the one I'm looking at is saying $50 starting bid? It blows my mind that someone could own so many air guns. How are you planning on have the guns shipped because I'm seeing that they don't ship?

I wasn't aware they don't ship. I was going to call and ask on Monday.

March 17 2012, 9:39 AM

Glad it only cost $1 to register. They are going to lose a lot of sales if they don't ship.

Unless I'm mistaken - help me out here - the DAQ's I spotted are item #'s...

March 17 2012, 9:53 AM

312, 321 & 322. If I'm correct, 312 would easily fetch over $1000 on the market if advertised in our circle.
I'll further speculate 312 is incorrectly labeled as ".45", .50 would be my guess.

P.S. These are listed as "Custom" and are among many others listed correctly by makers name.

Won't matter to me if they don't ship. I'm looking into the shipping now.

I got in right away. We need to get the shipping confirmed first before bidding.

March 17 2012, 11:55 AM

I think someone with some pull pulled some strings to shut it down after I blew the whistle about what a give away it was. wink.gif If you are a vintage Crosman, Benjamin or Daisy collector, you'll be in the front row.

I'm betting people don't even recognize most of the good stuff, I tried to point out a few. Again, "The better your eye...........

Low for now.....

March 17 2012, 1:36 PM

You'll get a couple hundred to show up in person and no shipping kills it for most online guys. prices will go up and some way up. This is no Myron kosack (sp) collection. Now that was something to see. To me there's about a dozen guns of interest and those are mostly wall hangers.

Think about it like this Lon

March 17 2012, 4:01 PM

There's alot of guys on here that don't have $1200 for a DAQ or $1300 for a Cyclone or whatever. Maybe they did their research and actually know what guns are what. So because you wanted to get on the microphone and blab about what you identified it not only increases competition for you, it also increases competition for ME. I don't have alot of money man...I usually have to save for 2 years before I'm able to purchase a higher grade rifle. But now when an opportunity comes around to grab some stuff at a lower price I'm just going to get steam rolled by some fat cat, pockets full of cash. That same person will come back and try and sell here for market price. So now I'm considering a 15 hour drive to NC because the online bidding is down now. It's just bad auction practice man. But congrats you identified some DAQs.

Semper Fi,
Derek

Bad news, Derek...

March 17 2012, 4:56 PM

I know for a fact that the players in the air gun community know what's there. You're no better or worse off than you were before I "blabbed".

BTW, as I said earlier, DAQ's, among MANY other valuable guns, are one that I personally have no interest in.

P.S. You think a guy collects 1000 air guns without getting known in the circle? wink.gif

You've just contradicted your self.....

March 17 2012, 5:13 PM

1) You know what you said had some sort of negative effect. You've acknowledged that you blew the whistle. Blab/blow the whistle...same coin there brother. 2) You say in your reply that you know for a fact that people knows whats there. However before you said that you're saying people won't recognize the good stuff.

So which is it? But then again internet disputes don't get anyone anywhere. So good luck on the Auction brother, I hope you grab some cool stuff.

Kind regards,
Derek

"People" being casual viewers...(edit)

March 17 2012, 5:19 PM

how many people on the yellow do you think spotted those "custom" DAQ guns I mentioned?

A lot of the items won't be wanted by even the big players such as cheap imports, Gamo's, re-badged, no name customs etc., those are the guns that won't get any bids, 100's.

The collectable Crosmans, Daisy's, Benji's, Dans, DAQ's already have buyers, it's just a matter of how much. Depending on your interest, there will be some deals.

I don't claim to know everything but don't think this was completely off the radar.

You're right.....

March 17 2012, 5:28 PM

All I am saying is that now those casual viewers can now play a hand. It would make getting some of those items at a lower price more difficult. However I don't think it matters anymore I think they shut off the site. I keep getting a 404 error when trying to open the site. There was a couple I was a bit excited about, one was that Shamal...not sure of the history but it looked pretty cool. Then of course the Falcons and maybe the Cyclone. Oh well.

March 17 2012, 5:38 PM

make the large buyers pay a fair price, don't let them walk off with some jewels for nothing.

I'm going to bid on a Barnes and some Crosmans. I know what price I won't go above, and then it's over.

That Barnes was pretty cool looking gun. Not into them myself. Might see about a Benji pumper, always wanted one of those when I was younger

A perfect example different interests...

March 17 2012, 5:58 PM

you may score a good deal on a Benji, they'll sell but a dealer will want plenty of headroom. I looked at them but don't know which are the most desirable.

I have my eye on the Crosman 1400's of which I already own one perfect example and some Crosman 22XX guns for parts guns. The Barnes has to go to Gary for a rebuild, it's basically a parts gun now. I know it's history well.

There is nothing I have to have. If I get my deal, I'll buy.
