Barrage First Fill Leak?

I am trying to fill my Hatsan Barrage for the 1st time with bolt locked to the rear and trigger on safe, it seems to be leaking from the general location of the trigger. (I.e., NOT the fill probe) That is, I hear the dreaded "hiss" and the gun's pressure gauge does not budge from 0. I'm using a guppy tank as air source. Any thoughts?

The rifle's valve was stuck open because its tank was empty, this being first fill. The fix was to open the guppy-tank valve as aggressively as possible, producing a blast of air. I finally heard the "pop" of the rifle's valve closing, and then the fill proceeded normally.

i guess it couldnt cross the pond with a partial fill. Sounds like the rogue valve not in a bad way but that required a bottle to fill.
