Wagria

From Frakor the master airgunner:

Maschinen Apparatebau, G.m.b.H. "Wagria", Ascherberg,
Holstein, Germany.

They made some air guns in the very late 1940s to very early 1960s.

All the guns were barrel cockers and some of them had a repeating system built into them.

They made guns that were badged by others like Burgo.

Many shot round ball. Don't know about a "cork seal".

Wagria info...

April 19 2017, 2:30 PM

Our generous British benefactor Garvin has a number of Wagria pictures supplied by Frank Korn on the Vintage Airgun Gallery site:

Piston and breech seals were certainly leather, although it's not hard to imagine the mistaken 'cork' idea getting passed along over the years.

Repairs

April 20 2017, 9:10 AM

Terry,

I cannot recommend any person in particular; however, most of these older air rifles are pretty easy to repair with just a few tools.

I have a Wagria Model 50 and recently replaced the mainspring and breach seal. For the main spring I used a Diana model 5 pistol spring with three coils removed. The old breach seal was replaced with an oring. All of the Wagria models used leather piston seals and they usually are usable if they have not dry rotted. The old lubricants are probably dried out so a simple clean/lube would also be in order.

You can email me at hudsonhw77 --at-- gmail.com if you want to.
