The stock came with them -

August 10 2017, 6:58 PM

from a gentleman unfortunately no longer making airgun stocks.

But to be truthful, they're aluminium, not brass. Probably the dark pic throwing the look off?

Two of the best shooting TX's around.

August 10 2017, 4:53 PM

Steve,

I like the one with the stock from Alabama best.
Won't be able to go down to Roz's this weekend. Had a left eye hemorrhage Sunday. Looks terrible, but been told that it should clear up in about 3-4 weeks. Kinda messes up plans for shooting for a while. Don't know what caused it.

From one lefty to another, those are gorgeous

August 11 2017, 3:41 AM

I'm wondering if you have them at 12ftlbs or around 15-16ftlbs. I never preferred a thumbhole stock. Now, I just recently read an old article from Hector Medina (stating this is only JMHO) about how a thumbhole stock on a rig over 12ftlbs causes the wrist to torque, thus less than perfect groups.

This may just be his hold that he has found works on his 12ftlb tuned 54's at 12ftlbs; but opens up over 12ftlbs. Notice anything Steve?

Thank you James -

They are both sub 12 fpe, shooting in the low 800's with JSB 7.83 Express.

They're both well broken in, smooth shooters, no torquing, accurate as all get out, the weak link being yours truly.

Both stocks offer a "thums up" position, as not all thumb-hole stocks do.

My babies.

I also appreciate seeing custom left handed airguns.
That is a rarity.

A custom stocked springer is one thing...

August 11 2017, 8:13 PM

But a custom "lefty" stock on a springer equals major droolin' for this guy! And double the drool in this case!! wink.gif

You've got a (very) nice lookin' pair of TXs there, Steve! And pretty cool that they're so close on the serial numbers, too.

"You've come far, pilgrim."-------"Feels like far."
"Were it worth the trouble?"-----"Ah, what trouble?"

Thanks to Cliff Smith, I now have #00321 and #00322. Those old MarkI's just seem to all be accurate. I only have one full lefty and it's Ken Reeves' old gun. Talk about an accurate gun, it is one of the best.
