Want to shoot Field Target in Hunter class. If I remember right you can use a bipod and a stool/chair. I was wanting to know if there is a requirement or limit on chair height or if it has a back and can be used.
Thanks for any help
Correct, but no

back support. No chair height limitation.
From the AAFTA handbook...
Any form of seat without back or arms support may be used, but
the seat may NOT be used to support the rifle while shooting.
Also, the bipod can not be attached to the gun. NT

Read everything Hunter-related in the AAFTA rule-book, available (for free) at aafta.org
You'll not only save yourself and everyone else a lot of time, but won't be relying on others' interpretations of the rules. Trust me!
one step further...

Read the whole thing so you understand the differences....
Then... go to the Field Target forum to search for your topic of concern (in addition to here). Odds are that it's out there....
I probably should have said

Read everything Hunter related, then if you have enough attention-span left, read the whole thing.
I'm convinced many (most?) FT shooters are woefully oriented to the rules, and assume that's because they either don't bother to read them, lose interest after a small dose, or don't understand them. My point is, if One starts with the rules specific to their division and class, hopefully they'll get through the points most pertinent to them.
Of course you're right, JD. FT competitors SHOULD be well-versed on the rulebook. That said, I think the FT forum demonstrates, sometimes poignantly, that many (most?) are not. The FT rule-book is not exactly high entertainment or "light reading".
I must admit, I scan the regs with an eye toward

topics that I'm interested in / concerned with / seem different than before.
But, that only worked after having read them more fully. Still, I find discussions on the FT forum they state things differently than I understood from my readings...
I really need to get back out on a FT course!!!! Been a rough couple of seasons.
