First impressions,
This rifle will be a game changer. Only thing that needs some work is the trigger. It did loosen up after 5 mags.
Is has a stiff spring, making the cocking pretty hard, but smooth. Functioned perfect through all mags. It came with one mag and I used 4 of my Marauder mags, which functioned flawlessly. You lock the bolt back and down so the mag clears the probe.

Here's the chrony numbers for 5 mags:

1 804 804 812 798 813
2 805 811 796 792 802
3 807 810 803 795 786
4 796 809 808 792 798
5 803 802 797 802 809
6 807 807 810 792 790
7 802 803 805 807 783
8 807 810 807 790 804
9 809 807 803 783 793
10 799 795 802 784 808

My first regulated gun. These numbers look pretty good to me.
I used my scuba tank (3000psi max) to fill the tank. So didn't quite get to full 3000psi.
If I filled all the way to 3000psi with my 4500psi tank, probably can get another good mag of shots.
60 consistent shots! Hard to beat that.

Here are some pics.

Thanks for the info .I have a .177 ordered . From what I saw in the owners manual the trigger is adjustable . For the price I did not figure I could go wrong with it . Can not expect it to be like a 2000 dollar rifle . Marvin

Gauntlets will put price pressure on

the low to midrange price market.
Maybe it will force the Marauder, Gamo and some Hatsan model prices lower?

trigger tweaking

November 8 2017, 10:56 PM

Yeah, it's a QB trigger so it's fully adjustable for pull weight, sear engagement, and overtravel.

The contact surfaces usually don't need much work to be smoothed and it becomes quite nice at that point. BTW, you can be pretty aggressive on the overtravel adjustment without suffering from sear drag.

You can also replace the overtravel screw with a spring plunger to make into a 2-stage for a 100% predictable break. The mod has been posted a number of times; here's my take on it:

thanks for trigger info

I have a few QB's that could use a little trigger TLC.

Added pictures of shroud internals

November 9 2017, 11:26 PM

Added a few more pictures to my Gauntlet album.

Removed the shroud to clean the barrel. Pretty simple design. An end plug, a one-piece plastic cylinder containing molded in baffles, and a spring to keep it in place. The end of the barrel has a plastic endcap with an oring that the spring rests against. Mine had a small crack, probably cracked when pressed onto barrel. I wrapped some electrical tape around it for a temporary fix. It was not loose. I'll probably fix with plastic epoxy next time I remove shroud. The barrel seems firmly attached with set screw. The receiver end of the barrel also has a plastic ring with oring and is threaded for the shroud to screw into. This plastic in the shroud setup is probably a weak point in the rifle. Again, an aftermarket opportunity?
The barrel was dirty, very dirty. It took me almost an hour to get all the gunk out.

Tomorrow I plan to test accuracy in my basement 10m range.
