my buddy got a new ruger airhawk last week, he ran a few patches thru the barrel and accuracy was very poor, rusty barrel. so i have the gun now after about 40 patches with kroil and 30 patches of JB bore there is still a slight rust color coming on the patches, any quicker way to remove this rust or better solution, accuracy is improved but still needs a better cleaning, going to leave barrel soak overnight with kroil, and back to cleaning in the morning.

JB on patches

seems laborious. I use a nylon brush and a cleaning rod to scrub new barrels with the JB. I think it would be more efficient.

Hoppies

Hoppies sells what they call lead removing cloth. It is sold in a plastic pouch and is a mild abrasive. I cut patches from them to polish bores. I know they work as I can look down a barrel then run patches through the bore and see it visibly brighter.
