It's about that time of year. The weather turns sour and the wait for spring begins. It's also the time to get inside all your springers to clean and tune them up. So for all you DIY'ers here's the most basic tool for safe and easy spring gun tuning.
This spring compressor features adjustability needed for just about every gun out there from the R7 to the Kodiak and everything in between. The end saddle cradles the barrel loosely while providing resistance against the breech block - allowing for a shorter overall spring compressor - about 30" end to end. Each saddle is lined and the end saddle faced with anti-marring rubber to protect the finish on your gun's action while in the compressor. The bottom of each hole in the base of the compressor is fitted with a tee-nut for the ultimate in strength and convenience when moving the saddles as needed. The end saddle is equipped with thumb screws for tool-free changes over four positions. The center saddle rarely needs to be moved yet features two adjusment holes in and since it can be rotated 180 degress as needed - provides a total of four adjustment lengths as well. Since the center saddle is narrower, thumbscrews actually are harder to work with so standard bolts are used. Kitchen table-friendly rubber feet are attached to the bottom. Each compressor will come with a rubber main-screw cup and three generic wood blocks (even thought only two are showing in the pics) that can be shaped as needed to handle unique end caps and slipped over the rubber cup.

Here's an older one with the Beeman Kodiak action in the stock so you can picture how it works:
