if you are talking about the tubed frame work that is show on several AVRE.s is actualy a LOG CARPET layer, i found the documnetation in the PRO, and is not secure dteh way you mentioned
it was used when following the rolly polly off the LTC then log carpet then chestnut carpet

by the way i asked teh driver whos tank is shown in D Day vol 2 now and then parked in a town center
