yeah... I think Disneys always shied away from doing African American princessess for two reasons.....blacks in this country, havent, up until recently, had the economic clout to make the merchandising worthwhile {and face it, merchandising pays the bills} and creating a black princess is fraught with politically correct peril. Make her mulatto, every one will scream that shes not truly black. Give her serious negroid features, everyone will scream rasicm.Theyre dead if they do and dead if they dont. She started out as a chamber maid and everyone freaked. So now shes a princess{in 1920s New Orleans???}..but...The artwork Ive seen is SPECTACULAR and so far she reminds me of Belle with a real good tan.
