But I thought you'd really like this place. It's called Greenwood Cemetary, you may have heard of it. It's RIGHT in the heart of Brooklyn, no less. I had no idea it existed. We went for a sort of performance art thing with some folks and a bunch of accordion players, but the cemetery itself was what was lovely. You should definitely check it out one of these days, it seems like it would be right up your alley!
......those are wonderful shots....I believe its the oldest cemetary in the east Coast??? certainly the most impressive...mucho Victorian statuary.I remember the worlds first traffic victim is buried there, a li'l girl mowed down by an old fashioned car......I love cemetaries, I take it youve been to Pere Lachaise in Paris?????lol...the tomb of Oscar Wild had an angel with a pronounced phalus and people kept chipping it off{according to the guard}...talk about the ultimate gay souvenir!!!they kept replacing it but itkeeps getting stolen...they should just sell them in the gift shop and be done with it.
OK,I know weve done this a hundred times, but when are you available this week??
I meant the oldest municipal city owned and run "official cemetary"...obviously the East Coast is peppered with cemetaries far older. Up in Kingston NY they all date to the early 1600s
I can see a bit of that....beutiful pix.Lighting and composition just heavenly, ifyoullforgive the pun.
I had a weird experiance in a cemetary in Vermont during our last vacation there.....I had been planning our trip using a Vermont guide and on the way home I talked Jim into stopping at this little town famous for its quaint cemetery and the Victorian house next to it.The house had been purchased by a middleaged couple, Helen and George Parker, who retired early and turned it into a bakery cafe and book store...well, what a way to retire!!!!! restore a Victorian mansion and spend your days selling books and chocolate cake to friendly strangers by the side of the road....count me in!!!! I was Really looking forward to meeting these two peopleand seeing if the elaborate descriptions of his books and her cake were up to par....I spent the whole vacation plotting to go there and Jim was cool with it,so we went there and loved the town and loved the cemetary, but were disappointed to find the house closed up....maybe they were on vacation???...we had lunch in town and then went for a more in deph tour of the cemetary which was truly exquisite with many wonderful examples of Gothic statuary...and suddenly as I was taking a picture of Jim and the kids, I paused.....there was somehting in the background. Two more modern looking tombstones, and on them were carved the names Helen and George Parker....they had both died about 5 years earlier.Whatta bummer!!! I ran back to the car to get my Frommers tour guide book and turned it over....it was from 1987!!! wow....that felt strange.But..it was kinda of nice that they were resting peacefully in the cemetary they obviously loved to be by in life, and we foundout later the house was being turned into a museum, which Im sure they would have loved.
I have this thing that I do where I look like I just sucked on a lemon. Squinty eyes, pursed lips, I look just like her. Freaks my friends the fuck out.

Jessies got the bod but her face was always a humourous parody of the ultimate 40s sexpot, her individual features arent really attractive per se....she looks like sexy human goldfish.
....I've never messed with the free ones cause my site was originally made by Kat the Animated Lust Site Lady who hosted me when she was going through her Herc obsession....she manifested, I sent in the info and pics, provided by Sara and Tracey. The site got soooooo big it would have galloped right by any freebie site....when Kat got tired of Herc and the bandwidth burgeoned I got my own domain and paid for it. It can be as little as 10 dollars a month....or as much as 200.
Freebie sites have very intrusive popup ads and limited bandwidth, and limited storage space to store your imagery which is measured in "Bytes". {I think I have this right, huh, guys???But some are obviously better than others, maybe Natalie can tell you, shes got a great site.
How big is your site and how large are your pictures? the best way to start is to go to Google and type in website domains and familiarize yourself with whats out there and what you need.
I dont pay 200 a month!!! I had a geek pal who was so amazingly talented he actually created his own server, and hosted me very cheaply....when a company actually made an offer for his server he asked that I be grandfathered in at the same rate, and they did so this site is practically free for me, but I just lucked out.
thats cause....out of sheer co-incidence I met three separate Herc maniacs....Kat,Sara and then Tracey all within 3 0r 4 years of each other. They were all incredibly talented,gung-ho and apparently had LOTs of time on their hands. So did I...at the time. And in between fans have done stuff and sent things in and made some lovely art, so, it keeps growing. A lot more slowly now, but, its growing.
