If I were to sit down and write out a list,
of Country Stars I've loved, but now sadly miss.
I'd start with Pop Stoneman, Jimmy Rodgers the Father,
Mother Maybelle and A. P. Carter.
Hank Williams the Great, and Patsy Cline,
Red Foley, Tex Ritter and Red Sovine.
I'd list Jim Reeves, Oh I loved Dottie West,
and Lefty Frizzell, they all were the best.
(Chorus)
All are gone, but like Molly O'day.
Jenny C. Riley, has just faded away.
Donna Fargo,
and Tom T. Hall,
They don't sing to us no more,
and I miss them all.
(2) Recitation:
I miss Loretta and Conway, and other duets,
like Kitty and Johnny, George and Tammy Wynette.
Lonzo and Oscar, Homer and Jethro,
and the whole dang cast of the "Hee Haw" show.
I miss Wilma and Stoney, Lester and Earl.
Comedian Rod Brasfield, and cousin Minnie Pearl.
Sure I miss Elvis, with his Rock n Roll stuff.
But if I talk about the "King", I'm talking Roy Acuff.
(Chorus Two)
Most are gone, but like Molly O'day.
Jenny C. Riley, has just faded away.
Donna Fargo,
and Tom T. Hall.
They don't sing to us no more,
and I miss them all.
