Two land deeds filed in Warren Co. VA Book A,420 & 452, show additional information about the Branson Family which I did not have when I compiled my ancestry of Ann Elizabeth (Lehew) McKay
Page 163 of that book the couple Wm. Branson & Elizabeth Osmond, son Isaac Branson b. 18 Feb 1765 married Jane SMITH, daughter of John Smith of Shenandoah Co. VA. He died possessed a tract with mill on Passage Creek in Warren Co. VA (taken from Shenandoah Co. VA). The property was divided among his children: Jane Branson, Rhoda Smith & Levi Smith and John's grandchildren: Elizabeth (formerly Rodgers and wife of Samuel Berlin), John S. Rodgers & Levi Rodgers.
The children of Isaac & Jane Branson given as: Smith, Aquilla, John, David (dec'd), Catherine, Wm. & Elizabeth (dec'd, she intermarried with John Hirst). Stated all of Belmont Co. OH as of 1839.
I have found said Smith Branson & John Branson living in Belmont Co. OH on 1860 census.
Perhaps I will find out more about them as I am going through Shenandoah Co. VA land deeds.
Some of the descendants of James Mackay/McKay Jr. of Shenandoah Co. VA intermarried also with Smith family. I don't know if the same family or not.
