Once you've read real fanfic, instead of the Ben and Brian show, Eyrie looks pale. The main difference is that Ultra isn't really meant to be taken seriously.
Or, at least, it doesn't *read* like it's meant to be taken seriously. After replying to Snotters' post, I went to see what Vidders wrote that got 2F so upset.

As disses go, that wasn't much. I've heard worse -- hell(tm), I've been on the receiving end of worse. It wasn't exactly nice, but I'm not really sure it justified the reaction I'm given to understand the good Mr. Gagne had. It was about on a par with some of the things he says in his "Multiplex Madness" pieces about the films he reviews there, really.
