<<I only came in for his wrath by being involved with TLAS (he's utterly convinced that they will never be worth reading and that anyone who likes them must have some geologically fascinating material between their ears).>>
I probably shouldn't get too deeply into this, but I suppose I can say the few early adaptations I read didn't quite give me a sense as to why there would be either extreme detractors or supporters of them. I place no fault with your adaptations of anyone's script-format Daria works, though.
<<I look forward to seeing the finished product. (I'm even morbidly curious about the basic fic.)>>
If you're interested in reading it as a work in progress, there are already six chapters MSTed in two parts at <http://www.geocities.com/rivercityrandom/>. To be frank, I wouldn't suspect they'll leave you demanding to know what happens next. The basic story's fascinating to me too in a strange and extremely hard-to-classify way, although I can't manage to be offended by it.
<<Anyone I might've heard of?>>
His name is Bryan McGucken, and the story in question is called "A Kiss for Quinn." He actually wrote a self-MSTing of the work and posted it to the alt.tv.mst3k.mstings newsgroup.
