Ah so thats what the syringe thingy is.
Am I right in assuming they were built like this, I kind of assumed it was modified from the original spirit cup and this arrangement had been borrowed from something else.
I wonder if anyone knows the history of the arrangement, or if many were constructed like this.
Have you ever dismantled the assembly for cleaning, had a go with a spanner but the thing appears to be firmly fixed, ie does is come apart like a normal burner/spirit cup. A close examination doesnt show whether there is a gasket between the two.
