  • Anyone for Dandridge

    • Posted Mar 4, 2002 5:06 PM

I know that village residents must be tired of stray Americans wandering in and wanting to talk about Martha Dandridge Washington, whose ancestors came from Drayton St. Leonard. I, at least, can plead that I am British. I am trying to find a link between my familial Dandridge connections and Martha's family. I have a connection to Daniel Dandridge, son of Francis Dandridge of East Hendred, Berks/Oxon., who married Mary Hunt of my family in the 1820s. Francis Dandridge was buried in Abingdon, so I have good reason for thinking he is tied to the Drayton St. Leonard crowd. I have a strong family tree on line at

I invite anyone to visit and consult it and I'd love correspondence with anyone who is interested or has any suggestions. Suggestions, that is, except for: Please go away.

Many thanks. A warm welcome given to all cousins, distant and otherwise. You can reach me at bernard@hunt.org
