i have come across a small thumb nail sized gold horse shoe with red detail & meux's written on the front of it.it isnt a badge.have tried to find out on the net what it might be & this is the only site i found that might be able to help me!! so if any one has any info on it i'd be grateful!!

The only Meux I'd heard of was the old Friary Meux brewery, which used to be in Guildford. An Internet search showed that Meux is a family name and included artists and rich americans. Where did you find the item? As it is gold its hallmarks will tell a lot, take it to a jeweller for valuation and ask him to explain them, and let us know what he says. That should give us ideas on where to go further.
