75 Pacer engine swap

by

I just bought a 75 Pacer and am considering taking out the 258 and replacing it with either a 340 w/4 spd or a fuel injected inline 6 from a Jeep. If anyone has done one of these, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Maybe someone knows which task would be tougher or maybe an available kit. I'm completely new to the Pacer so I don't really even have a starting point. Thanks.

Heres some tips, simply reach in the engine compartment with your shlong and pull out the motor, then carry it over to your garage and fuck it.

How can I get performance from my 258 ci ?

by

I recently became the owner of a 76 pacer. 49,000 miles
and a little rust. It has air polution all over it. I traded my 67 Ford pickup for it. It also had a straight
6, but no air polution. Nice and simple. I sure would like to delete the intake/exhuast with that horrible egr and junk on it. Are there any stock intake/exhausts
from previous year AMC's that would be clean of any of
this garbage. The carter 2 barrel also has a lot of extra vacume connections on it, sure like to get rid of that octupus. Looks like someone had allready deleted out the catalytic converter early on.
I don't have a ton of money but would like to get some more performance out of my 6. Hopeing I could go to the local yards and find some goodies that would help.
Hopeing someone thats good with the pacers would send me an e-mail with some tips-tricks, and good info.
Miss my Ford, but love my pacer more. Oh, my pacer came equiped with a 904 torqueflight.

Thankfull for any replies.

258 ZOOM?

by STEVEN BENASHER

...THE EASY WAY WOULD BE TO DROP THE MOTOR FROM A VERY HIGH PLACE...SORRY, COULDN'T RESIST. ANYWAY, THE PLACE YOU SHOULD START IS YOUR LOCAL JEEP DEALER, BECAUSE THE 258 HAS BEEN PUT IN JEEPS FOR OVER 30 YEARS. AND SHOPS THAT MODIFY AND RACE JEEPS CAN ALSO HELP, BUT THEY MOSTLY FOCUS ON V-8'S.
