Why is this U.S. Navy Response to a Freedom of Information Act so important? Cmdr. Donaldson has based his "terrorist missile theory" on the premise that the U.S. Navy was NEVER at the scene when Flight 800 went down. This U.S. Navy response directly contradicts this. It provides evidence that the U.S. Navy was indeed at the scene.
Cmdr. Donaldson and his brother Bob continue to make mention of "The Case of Witness 649" on their web site. This witness watches the contrail rise up initially at a 90 degree angle of climb (i.e. "straight up" as Cmdr. Donaldson has stated). Ladies and gentlemen, you don't fire a shoulder fired missile up at a 90 degree angle.
That 90 degree angle of climb represents the vertical launch system (VLS) used by U.S. Navy surface ships and submerged submarines to launch missiles.

While the FBI was publicly saying that it was a mechanical failure, they were secretly trying to determine if a U.S. Navy drone aircraft was involved. The FBI had an employee from Teledyne Ryan (who manufactures drones) come to Calverton, New York to assist the FBI.

I hope you will follow the link I posted "The Drone Faxes". You will see a picture of a drone aircraft.
Now take a look at Witness 550 (posted on your web site) and his 302 FBI witness form statement. This witness was approx. 1 mile out from the shore in his boat. I quote "He saw a plane coming from West to East (flight 800) and then what looked like a "smaller plane" coming from the Northeast on a dead course heading toward the nose of the larger plane. There was no smoke tail on the "smaller plane". This witness went on to say that this "smaller plane" impacted with the larger plane (flight 800). Now gentlemen, does this description by Witness 550 sound like a description of a shoulder fired missile? I think not. That description by Witness 550 perfectly matches the description of the drone which is pictured in "The Drone Faxes". You gentlemen have posted Witness 550 on your web site. His statements do NOT support your theory of a terrorist missile. It DOES support the case that the U.S. Navy is involved in the shootdown.
I invite Bob Donaldson (Cmdr. Donaldson's brother) to explain this U.S. Navy response.
Cmdr. Donaldson has already gone "on the record" and stated that the U.S. Navy was not in the area of Flight 800 when it went down. Bob, will you go "on the record" and tell us if you believe the U.S. Navy was in the area. Remember, you have to take in account the submerged submarine or submarines in the area of Flight 800.
One other point. I don't know who was the U.S. Navy Director of Submarine Warfare back in July 1996. I strongly suggest that the members of ARAP
and lawyers for the family members of Flight 800 find this man and ask him questions.
I would hope that President-elect George W. Bush
would call for a Congressional investigation.
"National Security" should not be used as a reason to cover-up the deaths of 230 people and the incompetence of those involved in a tragic shootdown of an aircraft.
