This representation is being sent by DLW OA to FROA on the issue of
hotel bill reimbursement. All members may ask their OA reps to also
take up the matter and represent to Board on this. Those in the Board
can directly talk on this issue. It will really add flavour to our
service.
REPRESENTATION
Sub: Reimbursement of Hotel Bills to Railway Officers.
The Sixth Pay Commission’s recommendations which have been accepted by
the Central Government and circulated vide letter F.NO 19030/3/2008-
E.IV issued by Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure has now
allowed hotel/guest house bill reimbursement of Rs 1500 to Rs 5000 per
day (depending on grade pay) for all Officers. But in Indian Railways
this is not admissible as the facility of guest house is provided. The
total number of rooms in rest/guest houses is certainly not
sufficient, and all officers face grave inconvenience especially in
metro cities. The booking is confirmed at the last minute and for the
lower level officers it is even more difficult.
In other Central Government departments this is allowed despite the
fact that they also own rest/guest houses.
FROA may kindly take up the matter with the Board so that the same
facilities are also extended to all Railway Officers.
