News of Heather Soroka, 1992-93 Nat'l Tour Annie

I am happy to report that Heather Soroka, who played Annie in the 1992-93 National Tour, is getting married on November 8. She was graduated from Towson University in Maryland in Psychology and has been working with developmentally challenged adults. Her patients particularly enjoyed it when Heather sang with them. Heather's fiance is at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Heather was with the National Tour for a year and a half starting when she was 11. It opened in Bloomington, Indiana in October 1992 with (Conrad) John Schuck as Oliver Warbucks and "Laugh-In"'s Jo Anne Worley as Miss Hannigan. Marcia Lewis took over as Miss Hannigan in late January 1993. Edwin Bordo was Drake and Beau was Sandy.

One of the Orphans in Heather's show was Jackie Angelescu, who was in Annie Warbucks later on and is heard on the original soundtrack album as C. G. Patterson. We interviewed Jackie for "Annie People" during the week off from the tour in November.

Tricia and I saw the show on January 2, 1993 in Cleveland on the exact 10th anniversary of the closing night on Broadway. It was very appropriate that we saw Annie on that day.
