I grew up 5 miles from the Paper Mill Playhouse and saw many plays there, and the theater has a fine reputation of high quality productions. One of the first post-Broadway productions of Annie was at that theater in 1983, starring Tara Kennedy and other former Broadway/National Tour Annie performers. A flu epidemic went through the cast, enabling Jennine Babo to play Annie for the first and only time, after about 2,000 Orphan performances on Broadway.

In the '90s I used to go to the Paper Mill every year at Xmas to see Larissa Auble in The Nutcracker.
