I'm not going to the hospital I'm going to his clinic. I think it's near their old office. I'm usually up the next morning wondering when he's going to let me go home. The surgery is mainly to repossition the anti-sypon device. ever since it was put in a year ago I have had pain so it's thought to be on a nerve or something. So it is like a constant pain/irritation all around the shunt. I don't know if it is able to move or what but it is driving me nuts. It works out well that he can check my shunt too. I have more trouble with IVs than surgery. Plus Dr. M is easy on the skin with glue and tack tape instead of staples. He cringed when he saw the scars on my stomach from other doctors. He fixed one of my worst ones. But he is a very gental doctor. I've had some surgeries with other doctors I wondered how many times they dropped me off the table. I would even have bruises all over my face where they had stablized my head in I think a vice grip...lol My lips would be all pinched and even scratched with blood where they put the tube down my throat. Julie usually goes into surgery with me and stitches me up and gets most of the iodine out of my hair. Another thing Dr.M tries to not shave more hair than needed and tries not to make it look too deformed. He understands it is hard for women to deal with bald spots. But Joy I know you know this but I can't remember if you have had other doctors...I have had tons and it is a blessing to find him.
