Hey nice to meet you all and wonder if you could help me at all?
My fiance who I have been with for almost 7 years was told he had Hydrocephalus as a baby. I remember him telling me he had water on the brain but when I asked his treatment he told me his mum said it went away.
Things were never good between him and his mum and there is so much about his life we will sadly never know, Unfortunately recently his mother passed away and since then we were talking to his younger sister about the past and his "Water on the brain" he was told he had, she said their mum said he wouldn't make it past five but that is all she knows about it.
Paul (My fiance) does have a larger head at the top hard to explain but you can almost see a bump...I don't know what happened and we don't know enough about this condition to know what would have happened to him when he had this illness.
Can anyone tell me how it is treated in a baby? he was born in 1975 apparently they didnt operate as they couldn't in those days.
Any idea how it can be caused? And how could it have gone of its own accord? I ask as it worries me there could be problems later in life if he had this?
