There are products on the market over the counter to get wax out. One is Debrox. I usually just put a drop or two in my ear of peroxide and let it sizzle a few minutes, then lie on the other side to drain it, or a water pick flushes it out even better. Any urgent care can check and take care of it.
I lost the hearing in my left ear completely right before I was diagnosed with hydro, but had had meningitis and ear infection right before.
