Thank you for your response. I hope that all is going well for you and that your up coming sugery will be a success! I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
I hear what you are saying about having all of the different oppinions. I have been through several neurologist and am on my second neuro seurgeon. I have been batteling this illness for the last eight years and have learned a lot from the wonderful people I have met here. I have had a third vent and then a v.p. shunt placement back in 2004. Since then I have had several shunt revisons and two replaceents.(Nine surgeries in total 4 in 2008 alone.) The docs will adjust the setting on the shunt but in my case it seems that by being off by the slightist bit either causes me to lose to much fluid and puts me at a high risk for hematomas of which I have already had two or does not allow enough fluid to drain which seems to leave me in the situation that I am in right now. I think that you are 100% right in what you are saying and feel like I should ask my docs about it. Unfortunatly I feel like they see me as one of those patients who complains too much even though I try not to.
I saw the neurologist about three weeks ago and she put me back on topamax and I am having a bad time dealing with it and it's side affects. I think that I am finally going to have to speak up and say something hopefully it will make some difference.

Thanks again,
Best of luck
Linda
