After a Very frusterating few days I have finally been given a clue as to what is happening to me. My last post was about how the medication that the neuro has me on has not been working. Today I found out why. I was admitted to the hospital wednesday night this last week and had a C.T. that showed "hydrocephalus" from what I was told they saw a build up of fluid and wanted to do more test. So, we did them after the flow study I was sent home and told to check up with my neurosurgeon.
Today I got the return phone call from his office and was told that the reports were back and they showed eveidence of a shunt malfunction.
I will be going in on friday to see the neurosurgeon. From what his nurse said it looks like we will be scheduling another surgery. I suppose I should not be upset I made it almost a year this time without having to go under the knife. This is good by my standards considering that last year I went in four times.
I guess I should just be happy that I now know what is happening and there is a chance to fix it. I am looking forward to feeling human again! This nausea and inability to eat and keep it down along, with the weakness and feeling tired all the time is not like me!
