if you live in or around NYC, check out the Brazilian Girls. They're a four piece band, none of whom are Brazilian (though one is female) who are a mix of house, dub, lounge, and God knows what else. They play every Sunday night around midnight at nublu, on Avenue C and 5th. They also frequent Joe's Pub and, lately, the Blue Note.
