Reggie Ray Hoffman advice he installed classic gauges in july of 08 and he was very happy with them so I bought them, The problem is you have tous the pickup tubes from the old sender and us the new sender and it is on the wrong angle to get it in the top of the tank. I will call the company in the morning but I thought maybe sopmeone may have the same problem. I had anew dash plate custom made to fit the new gauges I will have pictures as soon as possible to show. Thank you for the response. Jim .W
I too had the unworking gas gauge. So I ordered a new one from someplace and when it arrived, I realized that it was just the sending unit. I decided that I would have to use the original for the fuel line, and the new one for the gauge. Throwing caution into the wind, I drilled a new hole in the top of the tank and mounted the new sending unit in the old hole, and installed the fuel pickup in the hole I drilled further back. It took a while to get the thing set up so that the float would clear everything that I had added to the tank. So far, the gauge works perfectly.
