Much more leg room

Ladies and gents

I think I got this photo bucket thing right If I duplicated pictures forgive me.
The reason I did all this is because I have a Bad left knee not because I am so tall. With the original seat position having that knee bent constantly and going up and around the clutch pedal was killing me. So I bought the bettershay kit and basically wasted that money. It was a learning experience. Took the center seat from a caravan and had my mechanic move it down and low to a perfect seating position so that driving my "Abigail" is really a comfortable ride not a pain

Joel, I can help you with your pictures if you wish. I have photobucket too. Or you can send pics to my email and I will post.

Also, on the Bettershay Kit. Did you install it?
If not may be interested in purchasing it from you.
Still interested in what the heck they look like and what they do?

Joel,

WOW !!!! That seat fits real well.

A lot easier than rebuilding the existing seat.

Is it on tracks that adjust back and forward?

After it is recovered it will really be nice!!

It also looks like you have gained about 6"

Was the bulkhead cut in anyway...or removed?
Or was just the new Van seat installed?
I sure hate to cut mine, but could sure use more leg room.
And finally, same question as Bob...what year seat do I look for?
Junk Yards I guess? Or maybe ebay? Any place else?

Thanks...steve

Yes you have to cut it all out. The seat came from a 97 Dodge Caravan.Remember its the middle seat so get the seat belts too!
A big Thank you goes to Bob Hillman he not only steered me in the right direction he gave me the advice for the wooden tack rail that really helps if you want to keep your top in place. Ask him for his pictures. They will be very helpful if you want to do it yourself.
I still when money allows want to recover this seat in black and get new carpet.
But I have to be honest I really love my shay but without doing this seat replacement I would not be have been able to enjoy it. Now its a pleasure to drive.
