The fire wall of my shay is signed with a fairly large signature, in black magic marker. I can not read it, but I am guessing it's some one from the production line. I this common on other shays?
Hi Troy, My Shay is pretty much all original. I looked and could find nothing marked on my firewall with a felt marker. I even looked for something faded out.
But I did find the number 1538 in chalk marked on the black steel plate the holds the master cylinder to the firewall. Thats the only marking I could find on the firewall hand written.
Its interesting, I did find an embossed number in the firewall just above the windshield wash reservoir. Anybody know what this number makes reference to?
I think that is the body number for your car. I have the original factory build sheet for my car and the number on the build sheet is the same as the embossed oneon the firewall.
