well I removed the arm of my signal switch. You have to turn it a quarter turn to the clockwise direction. Then pull it out. Then I removed the plastic handle by pulling and twisting, I then cut about two inches offthe length.. I then replace the plastic end. I found this a better option than bending the arm. If one were to bend the arm to desired position it would be difficult to remove it sometime in the future. Oh if you are wondering why I went through all this I put a smaller steering wheel in and made my own adapter to get the steering wheel away from my face in doing that it caused the space between my hands and the signal arm too close. By shorting the arm it allows more space. These arms were used on many Ford products in the 70's and 80's so replacements are found at your local junk yards. Tom in San Jose
