The Feedback Survey for this years SOCI 2009 that we discussed at our banquet will be emailed directly to all of this years Attendees this weekend. Please look for it in your email and help us by giving us some feedback so we can make next years Convention even better than this years.
Is it possible to post the minuets of the business meeting so those that didn't get to attend? Who are the officers for the coming year? It would also be nice to know where the convention will be held next year.
This was not an election year. SOCI Officers are elected for 2 years. You're stuck with us. The Attendees voted to hold the Convention in the KC area again next year though it was discussed and accepted that the Convention can be moved to a new location each year. The treasurer gave his report and it was accepted. There was discussion that anyone wanting to pay their dues for several years at a time could do so. There was also discussion encouraging attendees, where possible to establish local Shay Clubs like the KCShays have done in order to encourage local touring and get-togethers. That's it in a nut shell. Dave Telles and Scott Forsen will spearhead the 2010 Convention and tthe KCShayers goal is to make the 2010 Convention even better than the 2009 (which was very well received).

Are you saying we voted to move every year or was that done in Tennessee.I said at the meeting that it was the way from the beginning that the meeting would be in the same place for two years.

I don't remember that being talked about and I would have voted NO!NO! NO! If the SOCI is going to do that, then you will have to get another Membership Chairman. I have for the past two years telling the Officers and I even post it on this forum to get another Membership Officer/Chairman. Time is get short and I'm tried of all the work doing it and the Website. This job does require allot of work.
