HI Everyone: I wanted to get a Historic Vehicle plate made of copper in Az.

Since I have "classic car" insurance I qualified for an emissions exemption.

Az will sell plates of all kinds for $ only some have any benefits, my copper one won't corrode like aluminum.

JZK1 is my plate, looks like an amateur radio ID huh ?

My plate (all copper plates) were struck in '77, the yr I went into the fire service in Az.

Az plates still require yr and month tabs (stickers) for current licensing.

Since the 77 is not required,

I am going to take some black paint and change my 77
to a 29 at the top of the plate

Speaking of Ham calls are there any others in the Shay family??I am KA7JFP

In Pa. their known as "Vanity Plates" mine reads... RAYS 29A Ray Hofmann

I just love my plates! They read "A OOGA"! It gets a lot of smiles and comments at shows and when we are driving!

I did not get vanity plates but the last two digits are 29. At shows people have walked around looking at the car and then at the plate and said "Oh, I was wondering what year it was."

You are luck then. We have "C MY 29" on our plate and the plate holder has "1929 MODEL A" on it and they still ask WHAT YEAR IS IT?

Our Local Car Club owns a 1950 Ford Police Car and plate say "I GOT YA"

My Dream Shay plate would say " NO! It is not a Kit Car" But I cannot afford a plate that big. . . THANKS. . Dave Shank
