The Dog did it!

Thought I would share this "first" for me. I attended a 3 day Rod Run In Hutchinson, Kansas this weekend. There were 503 entries as the official count goes. I ( or maybe the dog helped) managed to snag a "First place" in the class. The trophy is a clear acrylic thing and is hard to see in the picture. Anyway you could have knocked me down with a feather! 10 years of going to shows and now I get a 1st place! To some of you that have gotten several, it might not seem like any big deal, but it sure was a pleasant surprise to me!

Way to go Dave!

Dave,

Nice job and your car looks deserving. It's always good for the Shay name when one of ours wins a first place trophy. I entered one car show a couple of years back, got a first in class and retired while I was ahead.

Thanks for the comments. I should take Pat's advice and retire while I'm ahead...probably won't though....retire that is.

The rims were from "American Racing" and are 15x7 with a 2-5/8" offset to the back which clears everything with no problems. The downside is that they were discontinued and I almost didn't get them.

The flames are my own creation and are "magnetic" I can take them off and put them back on as the "event" dictates. the car's next public appearance will be with no flames and the original style wheels for a silent film event at the local theater. But, alas, without the dog.
