We dressed up the Shay (Tootzy) with the car cover and put her in the trailer for the winter. Poor thing , she looked pretty scarry.
We didn't want the Gobblins to get her. It's rainy here but at least we haven't seen the white stuff yet.
" Trick or Treat" be sure to hand out that candy.
Here in Virginia we are having warm one day cold the next and looks like a cool wet Halloween nite, with still a very few car shows to attend. I hope everyone has a safe Halloween, watch out for the ghost and gobblins.
DONNA: TRICK or TREAT!! We had our Shay out this last weekend to put on the SUN SCREEN to get it ready for three months in the sun shine. Dave & Theresa Shank
That being, folks taking photos of our cars....Seems like at every show I attend, there are at least a couple folks that stand by the Shay and a spouse or friend takes a photo..I always ask if a couple wants me to take them together...They always respond in the affirmative and seemed pleased...Letting them climb and sit in the rumble seat is a favorite and pleasurable moment for many of the "old-timers" as well as the "new-timers"...More photos ensue...And those MEMORIES they share...I wonder if some go home and tell family and friends about "their" new car!! I sometimes feel I drive a one-man AMUSEMENT PARK...I do have an aversion to those DO NOT TOUCH signs that a lot of specialty car owners place on their vehicles...I want to let folks experience sitting in the cab and the back...A downside is that a lot of the older generation that may have climbed into a rumble seat those decades ago, find their dexterity has wained some over the years.
I've mention in other postings that the best part of owning a "special" vehicle like a Shay, is not only the attention, but the many nice folks that find interest in such a unique ride...Probably 3/4 of the folks that check out my car, say hello or carry on a conversation..I still owe a great deal, I feel, to the 20 X 30 sign board that sits by the side at every show with some Shay history and details.
For those of you that are getting in the last rides of the season, Spring is just around the corner but, unfortunately, the corner of far off in the distance of time.
DONNA: I used a product called FORMULA 2001. It is a UV protectant and has a great shine. Worked great being right on the beach with lots of sun and salt spray. Wish you were there, you would LOVE warm sunshine every day.... Dave & Theresa
