I wanted to inform everyone that I will be making a significant change in the forums beginning today. A large number of the forums will be locked in which one will be able to read through past postings, but will not be able to post.
Part of this is driven by my hard work and determination right now as I prepare for bicycling across America in the early part of 2008. I need to streamline things so that moderating and "watching over" forums can be kept to a manageable minimum. As I prepare for this major adventure, I simply don't have the time, energy or interest to keep up with the forums, which demands a lot of focus and dealing with occasional crap now and then.
Those forums will be locked until about May 1, 2008. After that point, I'll make a decision about whether to re-open them. (A part of me wouldn't mind keeping them locked long-term.
Why not have more focus and sanity on my other worthy life endeavors after my huge bike ride?! Nonetheless, we'll see.)
