Some food photos I took 2 weeks ago.
My sister and brother in law are regulars. I tag along. I took photos of this because I tell myself I am experimenting with the camera (what rubbish = it's fixed at PHD (press here dummy) mode.)
So here's the place we go eat at - no frills place commonly called a "coffee shop". Existing long before the creation of Starbucks and fancy coffee places, this is where the average person buys coffee and tea. Note that some of the tables are concrete. Weather roof and theft proof.

The person who sells the coffee will not be selling food.
This is the person who sells drinks. You order coffee and tea (black/white with sugar or without) in a local lingo.

Food is sold separately by someone else in this case a "yong tau foo" stall. There's another food seller but they are not the star attraction.

Yong Tau Foo is a common food type in Singapore and Malaysia. Very "Hakka" chinese (the Hakkas were the nomads of China). It's essentially a selection of vegetables (some stuffed with a fish paste) and a variety of other food made with a soya bean product of sorts (tofu, tofu skin). This is a Singapore varient.

Then it's served. Pay on delivery and NO tipping. That would be offensive.
Here's the variant forms. Mine is "dry" and is served with a chillie sauce and a soyabean sweet sauce.

The boss who runs the food stall was tickled pink that I was taking photos. He even arranged the chopsticks and spoon for me. My sister and brother in law were half embarrassed by my picture taking, and told him something is Chinese which I didn't quite catch. Probably I was "mad"
