Yesterday I saw that there was going to be a topic on nudists and the health that surrounds "their" lifestyle. They showed the images of them in the gym, but blurred out those regions society is uncomfortable with (unless it's porn).
I think it is finally good that society is realizing that nothing but good can come from nudity, specifically social nudity. I am glad that it finally became known enough to reach my own TV stations too, finally, society begins to mature.
I know when we come back from our resort, we are renewed in strength and spirit.
As far as TV goes, the Travel Channel has had several segments on nudism. Once as a side piece of Palm Springs. I wrote to tell them how pleased I was with the shows and please do more.
You're right in that producers will blot out body parts in a legitimate show, but leave it in when trying to titilate the viewer (like NYPD Blue). On a side note, it also drives me crazy when the population accepts violence as normal, but howls at the possibility of a beach becoming clothing optional and our government tries to enact laws against it. Don't our represenatives have better things to do with our money?
Shows like X-Files and other programs where they show body parts, especially the inside, will still not show a "private" part.
They will show every organ, part, especially if gorged with blood and violence, and still find it "offensive" if shown a "sexual" organ.
