Big dreams, little time....for now

Hi everyone,
I see it has been rather quiet here. I know I haven't been here much myself. Still working my business and job, haven't had much time for anything else. Too tired.

I hope you all are doing well and not caught up in something that got you by the tail! Life can get hectic.

I still have a big dream of a nude society, and hope to visit a resort now and then. Hopefully by next summer, we will be in a position to get out and be free again! I got a "Dream Board" at home where I post my dreams on. One of them says "I have 650 Acres of wooded land with a house in the middle. Amen" That, of course is for obvious reasons!

Living in an apartment isn't exactly the greatest thing going, but I don't have to mow the grass....nude or otherwise.

Just don't abandon the board, I'm afraid it will start to become spam material, which I don't want to happen. If you got something to write about Christianity and Naturism, please join in.

I'm not far, just poking my head in now and again.

On the right track

Boyd, I'm one who misses the liveliness that this forum had when you were working at it every day. But I understand. You had to make some important choices, and you put your family's future above your private passion and hobby.

That's the kind of responsible choice that adults—especially Christian adults—just have to make. I commend you for it.

John Maxwell is fond of saying that in life everyone has to pay and everyone gets to play. We can pay now and meet our obligations later, or we can work hard to meet our obligations first and play later. It's a way of looking at life that I completely agree with.

My wife and I are people who did our paying first, working extremely long hours and living on considerably less than we made. Now we're retired, and we have what we need to have wonderful times playing.

On the other hand, there are some who are close to our circle who played first. They spent more than they earned, and generally loafed through life. Now they're trying to figure out how to earn enough in their retirement years to get by.

So...keep making those sound choices.

Stop and smell the roses

Boyd,

George's comments are pure gold, but I would like to urge you to take little inexpensive breaks from your routine. May I suggest that you find some secret place where you and Mrs. Allen can spend a few hours a week nude in nature? Since you no longer have a backyard at all, (much less one that is in plain view), and the cost of visiting a resort may not be practical, perhaps some peaceful meadow or patch of woods might give you a little bit of Eden. A few years ago, I found myself in a similar situation, living in town on a limited budget with not a moment of privacy or peace in a crowded apartment. I knew my semi-rural county well and I would take two or three hours to visit a place or two that gave me nude respite from the daily routine. It was a real Godsend!

More recently, I had some rural friends who gave me a standing invitation to swim in their very private pool when they were out of town. That also was very nice!

When I found myself in New Jersey in the winter on an extended business trip, the hotel sauna was my daily R&R zone. No one else ever used it.
May the Lord show you places of refuge and rest appropriate to your situation.

Hang in there

Trusting tha the Lord will continue to give you guidance in your daily living. Your dream of a section of land with the house in the middle sounds great. Too bad you are so confined at the present time but God will bless in the end. Keep up the good work and please check in from time to time. Love in Christ, WAB

WOW

Thank you all very much. I feel like there is life here after all! You all are encouraging.

It looks like things are looking up and down at the same time. Reminds me of the Barber and customer routine on the old Hee Haw show years ago.

The barber always had the good and the bad, which was good, but it was bad. So I think I'm in a bad situation, which is good, because it changes how I have been thinking, which is bad, because now I got to change everything, which is good, because I have a new life, which is bad, because I'm too broke for a new life, which is....you get the picture.

So my company is thinking of outsourcing...which is good...or is it bad?

Outsourcing possibility

August 22 2003, 1:59 AM

I have a friend whose job was about to be outsourced, so he went to the new company and suggested because he knew the systems inside out, he'd be a good hire to take over managing that business once they acquired it from his company. The outsourcing company agreed and hired him at an even higher salary than he was making.

Just proves good things sometimes do happen. But maybe it is time to move on to something entirely different.

One thing I've noticed over the years is that personality and proclivity for a particular job are essential. One without the specific personality for success in a particular venture can do exactly the same things other who are successful at it do but fail, and the resason is the personality match to the endeavor. We all have special callings, and that is not just in the spiritual realm. Whatever we do we have to be matched to the job for maximum success and fulfillment. There is no "magic formula" for success. Otherwise someone would have a patent or copyright for it.
