Today may be the last full nude day for awhile. I worked this morning cutting my raspberry canes down to the ground in my big patch. Tomorrow, it's time to remove the bushhog from the Gravely and mount the shredder to do the HUGE pile of leaves and big pile of trimmings from raspberries and tree. Using the MacKissic on the Gravely is better for leaves, but it doesn't have a chipper like my Troy Bilt.
Was nude all day up until about 4 o'clock. Took my walk down below with just my blase orange vest. Then used the chain saw to cut away that big root in the middle of the area where I need to dig and smooth away for my 2nd 300 gallon rain tank to the right side of the house where the ground slopes away, behind some bushes and that tree. Dug out some more dirt.
Changed chains on the chain saw, anything where I could work out there in the sun.
Great day. Cold coming. May only be nude during my walks down below sheltered from the winds. Can usually be nude there all year except for a few days.
Today? Tried to find out where I will be in three months.
Looked around, rather depressing for work here.
Whats it like in Florida? I'm sure RalphVa would still be nude all day and not his last day if he were in Florida!
I know it got cold here today. But I still would like to have braved the weather. Funny how people are more dangerous than weather. I don't know what people really dress for...other people, or weather? they say it's weather, but that don't jive in the summer time when people wear thongs on the beach. So I would say, it's for the people. They are more afraid of each other than bad weather.
I'm still looking for the right piece of land. I think it will have a lot to do with where I end up this summer.
It was 60 degrees this morning when the sun came up here in central Florida. I had been up since 5 a.m. and had spent about a half hour outside nude, walking around in my yard gathering fallen limbs. An online search for technology related work may show good results in this area. A newspaper article a month or so ago was about a lack of qualified help. Land is not cheap but a check of average salries for I.T. Field Engineers would be about the same as Charlotte. Average would be about 45 to 50,000. Bearone
Have y'all heard about Natura? It's a new Christian family community opening soon in Hudson Florida. It's in Pasco County, just north of Tampa.
I am really excited about it. It's partly a resort for people who want to get away from the cold, but it's mostly designed as an affordable nudist village under Christian leadership, where you can raise your kids, be a reasonable commute to job centers and enjoy the good life in an uplifting environment.
Oh, by the way, Christian Nudist/Naturist Fellowships (CNNF) is considering having a spiritual retreat and fellowship weekend at Natura this coming spring. (plans still in the works).
They may want to reword their purpose statement:
"Challenge: Raising children to feel good about their bodies and themselves in a society full of body shame and perverted attitudes."
I thought the idea was to "raise children to feel good about their bodies and themselves in a society without body shame or perverted attitudes".
Maybe they should change it alltogether.
Raising and teaching children and families to appreciate thier God given bodies without shame and fear. To help them become tomorrows leaders in todays world that glorifies God with their minds and bodies"
Taking children "out of society" would be a problem if the outside percieves this as a cult. I would be very cautious of this if a "Christian Leader" or any religious order leader, would create an atmosphere of living and set the rules that may become "cultish" or "legalistic" if not careful. I suppose I am cautious of that because I have seen it and been a part of a church that admitted being too legalistic and started to acquire the "cult" status (unknowingly).
It can also become a nudist "colony" as apposed to the naturist resort living lifestyle. I do appreciate the community of naturist living, but again, keeping "Chrisitan" values and leadership can be a problem in a closed community without showing signs of problems later down the road.
Any comments? I don't want to sound negative or over reacting, especially since I would love to be a part of this myself. I just realize that dreams are just that, and with God, all things...repeat...ALL things are possible.
How about a challenge. I know the site designer didn't ask us for help, but (he/she) could use it in the opening statement. Could we all pitch in here and come up with a better opening? I certainly would want one here!
Again, the opening says:
Challenge: Raising children to feel good about their bodies and themselves in a society full of body shame and perverted attitudes.
Sorry folks, that is not only bad grammar, but contradictive. And may miss the point of the society in the first place. I'm sure there is more than one reason for opening such a place besides raising children. They need to be more specific and clearer.
If you decide to take on this assignment, let it be known that you will be given credit for it and we will be glad acknowledge you. This site will not self destruct.
Boyd,
We need your ideas and your high ideals. First let me say that I am not a "representative" of Natura, just a volunteer, but I have corresponded with both Bill and "Nate" and have had a lengthy phone conversation with Bill.
Natura is an open society and not closed. It is open to all people, not just Christians, as long as they comply with a few basic rules of behavior that can be found at any conservative nudist resort.
Natura is also open in the sense that there will be visitors, monitored by security (just as they would be at a resort).
Natura is also open in the sense that some homes will have a public (non-nudist) front entrance and a nudist back yard that is within the confines of Natura's nude area.
Natura is open to singles. The price of the homes or trailers or whatever they come up with for lodging will be priced with the budget of a young family in mind. By contrast, most nudist resorts in Florida are high-priced and target the retired and/or wealthy nudist. Natura is child-friendly and teen-friendly in that they are planning space for activities and the activities themselves for our youth. Some nudist venues don't have anything for kids and their demographics shows it. There are some places that call themselves nudist that ban kids altogether!
Natura is doing its best to accomodate the spiritual needs of all its residents. Some people may opt for worship with a congregation off-premises, but there will be opportunities for Christian fellowship right there.
Boyd, your comments about the Web site should not be ignored. I hope Nate and Bill will look at them and consider your suggestions. To be fair to them, this is a volunteer effort and they are working hard to improve the Web site with the limited time they have.
Just want to echo and thank Trailscoat for first calling these postings to my attention and for his postings.
I have only spoken with Trailscoat on the telephone. He actually recommended Serendipity to mywife and myself to stop by enroute home from visiting my daughter. We did and found the family atmosphere very positive.
We are open to all as Trailscoat has stated. Our board is open to any who accept our basic beliefs but they must be in basic agreement with Christian values. Now that we are really ready to begin we are seeking additional qualified persons to serve actively, to be the early pioneers and also a few who might be able to invest. We have one investor who has already advanced $1,000,000 and now we want a group who can add another $500,000 before we seek bank or public financing. I will be glad to discuss this aspect further with any qualified person once they have identified themselves. I can be reached at 941-408-0678 or by email at NaturistChristians@comcast.net
Seriously, we would be very interested in the idea, I am excited about the home like resorts that are going up for naturism.
I hope everyone understands that I was not criticising the site, just an observation of the opening statement which was a little confusing. I really wanted to help.
On my hikes, it's pants, parka and gloves. No sun.
Lotsa snow falling out there.
Got my snow plow on the Gravely after a brief switch to the MacKissic shredder to do in a pile of brush and some of the drier leaves. Off with the bush hog.
Been without on the last couple of hikes. Think my limit is about 40 degrees with full sun. Below that or without the sun, I feel as though I need to carry clothes with me in case I fall and hurt myself or wear them. Think I need a backpack.
Yesterday was too cold and rainy to go out at all. So, I went bowling. Woulda been nice to bowl nude.
I have about the same tolerance. Yesterday was too wet and cold even WITH clothes!
You need to find out about Cheris Travelites. They have rented out a bowling alley to use for her non-landed club. I wish I could have made it to that one, in South Carolina.
