That is great news! That means we are getting a better demographics of people and backgrounds to share our lifestyle with and to learn from their stories. All around the world too!

Yes, I believe that is the key, "feeling safe" for all of us especially since 9/11. My wife and I are part-time nudist and in our 70's. I am partially retired, still do some consulting and we travel the East coast between Cape Code and Florida (off season). I have been reading this forum and just wanted to added my two cents.
Mother of Twins in NJ - we know Sandy Hook very well as we frequent it when in NJ. Some hints: get there early as the park can close when full; one of you drop off the twins and your beach gear at the nude beach entrance (by the restrooms) while the other goes and parks - do the reverse when you leave. Use the restroom while you are there it is a long walk to the ocean, also do not disrobe until you get on the beach the "clothed" and "co" beach are adjacent - I've seen some people undress too soon. I think this would be a great place for the twins to play nude and you certainly could go topless on the beach adjacent to the nude beach. As we go there frequently if a six foot tall silver haired man stops to talk to you and the twins it will probably be me, although I will have to put my shorts on if I cross over the line from the nude beach to the adjacent beach.
Scott - I have two grandchildren a girl about your age who does some "modeling" for a beachwear catalog and a boy who is 15 and on the school swim team. He reports the same as you that the guys will shower in their speedos and get changed as quickly and discretely as possible. I grew up in the era when at the YMCA you couldn't wear a bathing suit for the men's swim time and men walked around nude and casually. Also about the shaving if you choose to do this for athletic reasons get your mom or dad to help the first few times. Our grandson found out the hard way and thereafter always had his mother's assistance. By the way both of our grandchilren are comfortable being nude around us, sound like your grandmother will get that opportunity soon. You also mentioned since you sleep nude that as you mature things are different at night ("stiffies" - I like that), I can only tell you that they will continue for a long time (I still have them) - so relax and enjoy the feeling and the body God give you - it is part of our male sexuality.
Nearing Fourscore - I know what you mean about "low gear". But enjoy your walks, talks and observations. I too think people are more casual on the beaches and certainly wearing less!
Matt and Sue - enjoy those three youngins. My wife and I have seen more nude little kids the past two years, especially "off season" (not July/Aug) on the Outer Banks...and why not it makes sense for everyone! Something funny happened there this season. It seems as if the early teenage girls (13, 14, 15) like to go into the surf, take off their bikini tops and while covered by the water wave the tops at the guys. Well the girls were waving their tops a teen guy took off his swimsuit and covered by the water waved it back, then along came a huge wave and knocked him over, somehow he lost his suit and his friend ran to the beach for a towel so he could exit the water.
Jen - if I read correctly you have a wonderful and supportive family. If Scott and Shelly do get to your house for a swim here is a suggestion. Let Scott and Shelly get undressed and into the pool while you are in your room, then you could join them naked. As I male I think this would be more comfortable for Scott. Just a thought.
Nudelyweds - glad you rediscovered each other. Why go through the ritual of getting dressed only to get undressed? My wife and I have slept nude for the past 20 years, even when I walk up in the middle of the night her hand will be somewhere on my body or well will be snuggling - its such a great feeling. Someone said to me yesterday its getting colder guess you won't be sleeping nude, I have to say I am overall warmer in bed when I am nude, before my feet used to get cold but not anymore...guess sometimes less is more.

Dear O'Naturism, It took some time before my mother felt this was a safe place for me and my sister. Thank you so much for the wonderful post and including me. I woke up at 5am today with a stiffie, remembered what you said, smiled and went back to sleep. Your suggestion about Shelly and me getting into Jen's pool before she comes out is wonderful - that is somewhat how it worked when my cousin (girl) came over recently. I was in the pool in my racer when she and my sister joined me (they were nude) so I just slipped out of my racer and it was a lot easier and whole lot of fun!!! As to the hair issue - thanks for the heads up I think I will ask for assistance from my parents. Had my physical last night and if you read elsewhere this is my first with a female doctor and the "cough please" part. Funny how it is okay to be seen by my mom, my sister and even my cousin, but a strange woman touching me made me a little nervous, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I was cleared for swimming. As you know I am on the school swim team, sometimes I practice in my "racer", sometimes they give us "drag suits" to make us heavier and work harder and this season we are testing for the market TYR new "skin suit" which is about one half inch at the thigh and a modified thong in the back with no lining. Usually racing suits are light and do not have linging (men/women) in the rear and somewhat opaque but they say "we all have cracks in the back". The boys are complaining about these new practice suits since they are brief in the back and somewhat opaque in the front as well and form (or lack of it) fitting. The girls are even worse without the lining in the front (crotch area) and in the bra area the girls form can readily be seen. Glad Shelly only swims in the fall (that's when I play soccer). If they really wanted to increase our speed with a light suit they should use the one God gave us. Dont know why I'm telling you all of this - but thanks for listening and again I appreciate you post. Scott
I think you're right. If competition suits are getting that minimal, why not just dispense with the suits? There was a time when some intercollegiate men's swim meets were done that way. But times change.
My guess is that you have a considerable advantage over other boys your age in your comfort level with your body.
Luvnaturism, Yes, I sure do have an advantage. I can hardly believe how uncomfortable these guys feel and act about their bodies, but to hear them talk you would think that that was all there was to us. On the other hand I feel very comfortable with my body (but would prefer that the girl's suits were lined)and know that the body is only a small part of who we really are. my name is kelli and i just found this place this week while in school i read about scott and the swimsuits i know about the sleek thing but i think no suits for boys are a really really great idea and i also agree about girls being topless i dont wear a top that much of the time when i am home and really dont like to wear a bra that much and i sleep nude i liked reading about the little kids who can run around nude at home i used to be able to do that its fun kelli age 13

You said that you 'used to' run around naked at home. Do you still, or was that in the past? If you go back and read some of the older posts, you'll find that several of our teens used to enjoy nudity at home, but that they had not been able to for a long time. Now, through slow growth and alot of understanding and communication within their families, they are able to be nude more around the house.

i am so happy that two of you already answered me that is a nice feeling. i will have to read some of the other posts here. no i can no longer run around the house naked unless i am home alone but i do run around without a top a lot of the time and there is no problem with that. some other girls and i jumped over the fence of a local pool in an apartment complex this past summer at night and we went skinny dipping. it was really way out fun wish we could do that again. talk to you again soon i hope. kelli
You will in those earlier posts by me that it seems that I just focus on security. I am very acutely aware of what can and does happen to young ladies.
When you and your friends went skinnydipping, you were about 12 years old, maybe just turned 13. I have no way of knowing the ages of your girl friends.
This isn't a lecture. let's think things through. We'll ignore that it was an illegal activity.
Kelli, was the 'fun' in the skinnydipping or the getting in? I would be hard pressed to believe that a group of young girls could stay quite in such circumstances. If 'male guests' had decided to join you, their plans would not have been chivalrous toward you and your friends. Look at some posts by Scott. He explains that very clearly.
While it was exhilirating, 'we're courting danger', please don't even think about it again!! There is an old axiom about going to the well too often. That just means that you will get into very serious trouble, as in sex or worse. At your age, there is no such thing as consensual sex. It is straight out Statutory Rape. Read what Nude Teen, Miss Jen, wrote about that possibility after thinking about being in a teasing setting.
You stated that you are no longer allowed to be nude at home. You are allowed to be topless. Is your present situation related to your skinnydipping?? If it is, don't think in terms of 'being grounded'. You still have some degree of nude freedom. Your parents may have restricted you for your safety.
Please read what I posted to Nudelywed. Whether you are topless with your parents or alone at home, stay away from windows that not totally curtained and blocked out. When you are alone and nude, be absolutely certain that you are completely locked in. Kelli, remember, it is almost a given that any male who sees you nude thinks of you as an object.
Does your family know about this Forum? If they don't know, be sure to bring them on board very quickly. If they don't know and find out on their own, they might not be as agreeable as Miss Jen's Parents were. Whether they know now or you tell them, they must look at the postings here so that they can know that you are safe and secure here. Ask them if they might wish to post and ask questions.
Would your family consider nude activities together?? Are there places that you and they can go for nude activites? Are your other family members at least family nudists?
Kelli, you are a special young lady. We just want to be certain that you are safe. You have several 'Sister Teen Nudes'. Let them be your friends who can and will try to answer your questions and make you feel welcome.

At least as a girl you can use a more skin-tight suit when you do have to use one. Us guys (that's good Englik, ain't it?) have to put up with wet suits that cling to every thing and drip all over, and crawl up your...well, let's not go there. The only solutions are a speedo-type suit, which I do NOT have the physique to make work, or nekkid.

skinny dippin sure is fun i think just being neked and all made it super fun but i never thought of the danger that might happen i was with two other girls who were 12 and 13 and we kept it queit but still i never thought of what things might happen guess when your a kid you just do things that seem like fun and not too dangerous even if later you find out that they were dangerous thanks for talking with me and all kelli
You have just taken a very big step into 'young ladyhood' [new term, but you get the idea].
Skinnydippin is the best way when it's safe. The best thing is that you don't ever have to worry about, 'Do I wear this suit or that suit?'. You have the one that GOD intended with you at all times.
Go back to the part about your parents. They have to be on board with you also. They may decide like Jen's parents, Muiffin's Mom, and Shelly and Scott's parents that that you can be trusted with more oppotunities for family nudity.
Even more importantly, with your trusting them, they should respond with more trust from them.
Kelli, the way to show that you want to hug someone is {{ Kelli}}. The larger the number of {'s, the more important and bigger the hug.
Because it's a Naturist Forum and you can! Thats what it's about. Encouraging each other with our experiences and making a connection with others. There are times when you cannot talk about this with others.
Since they are getting closer to "see throughs", then the coaches are not as shy as you may think. You might suggest it.
The only draw back is the "dangling parts". The speedos or tights actually do more than just act as non-dragging outfits, but keep the loose parts of the body from becoming a "drag" too. Sort of like a jock-strap, only smoother and tighter. Womens breasts are also a problem in speed swimming, so they need something to keep them pulled back and close to the body.
Even hair on the head can be a problem, so they wear caps. Some swimmers (as you have already suggested) would shave all over to keep the body hair from dragging. I'm just waiting for someone to get a "Turtle Wax" job done!
There are advantages to swimming nude, but when in a competition, you take the advantage of the tools of the trade and not worry about naturism.
Even if I worked in the nude on a construction site, I would still need to wear a hard hat, safety shoes, and something to keep sparks from welding from burning my skin.
So don't look at the speedos in swimming competition as a defeat against naturism, but a tool to help you along in your competition.
But talking to the coach and to your team mates, you can suggest being comfortable in the nude, and the new "see throughs" won't be a problem any more. Invite some of your team mates to your house for a nude swim.

Mr. Boyd, When I saw the Message Title I thought I was in for it...I thank you for understanding. Sometimes I just want to get things on the table and this site has helped me. Even my family has seen me not be so "up tight" since our family has joined this site. I think you are right about the "drag" issue, but nude is still the way I like it. See through is not an issue for me, except when I see the girls it is uncomfortable. I like the idea of a nude swim with some of the guys, do you think my mother and Shelly would be willing to go shopping for a few hours and my dad would be home Scott
What we all need to keep in mind is that he's very creative with titles, and enjoys playing jokes on us: the title often implies the opposite from the text that he writes.
Concerning the see-through suits, you are experiencing something that bothers me also. I've been to lots of nude places (when I was in school swim suits weren't even permitted for boys in gym class), and I'm totally comfortable with nude people of both genders and all ages, sizes, shapes, etc.
What I'm NOT comfortable with are swimsuits that reveal too much of what clothing is intended to conceal. Thongs, for instance, have a sexual affect on me, and I find them embarrassing.
Is this logical? No, but it is real.
Since your team is participating in a manufacturer's trial, someplace along the way there should be a chance for you to give them some feedback about how you feel.
Dear Luvnaturism, I am glad I am not alone. I didn't know what to expect with a title like that. Glad it was okay. These suits really bother me. Not the guys suits (I am actually getting used to mine, but nude is still better), but the girls almost see through, skimpy and what is covered you can set the outline of some body parts - and then to hear what the guys are saying and then I think that one of those girls could be Shelly or Jen and I get upset. If the suits are still in use when Shelly swims, and if she is uncomfortable with hers, your Mom will likely be able to think of a way to put a small bit of covering underneath so the parts that bother you don't stand out so much.
Hey Scott, I will be sending you an e-mail through Dr. Sherri but I wanted all my friends here to now how very proud I am of you. You are a very special guy I really like the way you think of and want to protect your sister and other girls and even me. I now you must look really great in your practice suit. I wrote to Nude Teen Too a few days ago to and said what I was thinking of waring when you and Shelly come to visit but now I now I made a mistake. I will be waring my regular shorts and not my microshorts that was a mistake as I am learning I also think that my parents would not have let me do that they watch those kind of things and help me and so did what you wrote I dont want to disappoint you. You are such a special guy!

Thats OK, I've done it too! It doesn't hurt to give the same advice more than once, it's gets the message across.
Have you ever gone for "advice seeking" only to find just about everyone gave the same advice, no matter how you sliced the question?
It should tell you something. So it goes here. Just do your best.
Here is what can be annoying. I used to be a part of a speech club in where one gives a 6 minute speech based on the current type of speech the person is learning (such as "adding color" to your speech or "stiring your listeners to action" etc.).
We would also have a speaker give topics and act as a topic leader or mediator. That speaker would ask a question about a situation, then allow different members to give their opinions or answers. Very much like this forum. Then you always have two or three people raise their hands, stand up and say "I agree with that person" then sit down, amongst others who actually said something worthwhile.
That is annoying. We would rather they at least try to think on their feet and say something worthwhile (or even dumb). It's OK to agree and sometimes it's the ony thing you can say, but you giving a comment similar to what another said is a whole lot better than just saying "Yeah, what he said"!
