I agree, we are clothed in Christ, but we also clothe ourselves in this world as if we are a part of this world. Jesus said that we are still in this world, but not of it.
If we cannot mix "church and state", then do we put on clothes because it is wrong to be naked spiritually, or do we put them on because of a mans political reason?
Why do Christians wear clothes and why do non-christians wear clothes? That is one thing they agree on. If it's for religious reasons, then we cannot wear clothing on public property. But if it's political reasons (state) then they cannot tell us to wear clothing due to religious reasons.
So why do we wear them at all? What makes it wrong to not wear them?
I may change "I am not naked, I'm just not wearing any clothes" to:
"I am not naked, I'm clothed in Christ"
But if I say that, the will the church back me up while the government shut me down? Or will the government allow me since they cannot dictate religious beliefs? But again, they did shut down the American natives for using marijuana in their religious ceremonies that have been used hundreds of years before the United States came on the scene.
We were born naked tens of thousands of years and are still being born that way today. We claim God created us that way from the beginning. Wearing clothing was not from the beginning (Jesus said, "from the beginning, it was not so" refering to divorce). We divorced ourselves from God when we covered ourselves in shame. God signed that divorce when he clothed us. We are now married again through Christ. We have no need to hide ourselves in shame, yet we hide ourselves from our marriage partner?
