I just wanted to update anyone interested. Our D/FW based Christian Nudist group had its first meeting in late Jan and is getting ready to have our first C/O meeting. I started out by taking a leap of faith and creating a Yahoo group. It was slow going right before Christmas, but then took off as word got around. I would just like to say that I waited for years for someone else to start a Christian group in my area. It never happened until I got off my nude butt and stepped out....and now we are starting to roll.....
Thats all it takes, just get on the web and build one.
I know from personal experience!
Personally, I got away from Yahoo groups because most are email based and I get too much email as it is. Having many people posting and all going to my mail (as well as each others) sounds like an email virus! So I keep it minimal as much as possible.
That is why I like this kind of forum group, it doesn't crowd your email. And it's easier to setup the way you want it....more or less.
Actually, I like the email format verses the board one. Having approval of members is a plus. We are not discussing just general issues, but plans for meetings and activities. While we don't put specific info on the group site, it helps to know that only approved members can read what we write. I get at least an email from everyone who joins, or a very complete Yahoo profile. While it isn't much, it is more secure than an open forum. I can and have banned members who have misbehaved. I also approve all posts from new members....it makes it a nicer area all around. I am not saying one is better over the other....just that I like it Yahoo's way. Besides, you are here....what could I do except duplicate your efforts...
