Somewhere in New Jersey...

Somewhere in New Jersey can be seen four snow angels – a mom, a dad, a boy and a girl – ala Ralph. Had another snow here on Tuesday – hopefully the last for the season. Ken and I were going to make our first nude snow angels after the twins (6 y/o) went to bed. But then we thought we would ask them if they wanted to join us – they were already nude and of course they did. So at 7:00 the four of us just wearing our coats and boots exited through the rear door and into our backyard. The snow was beautiful – by now it was light and fluffy. It was a little hard at first but we all shed out coats and made snow angels – once you get over the shock it really is fun – we hurried in the house for a hot shower, hugs and something warm.

The kids have rapidly taken to the naturism life style. You may recall that Jared recently told his first grade Christian school teacher that you don’t need to wear anything to bed. Well last week it was Corrine’s turn. She brought home a large brown sealed envelope with a drawing in it and a piece of drawing paper. Apparently their class is talking about “family” and each one was to draw their family and then in the next few days they would talk about their family. While the four of us were drawn rather anatomically correct for a first grader, the teacher thought we should have clothes on. So Corrine’s homework was to draw a family that was dressed.

Awesome Kids! Such honesty we lack!

That is really interesting, these kids are so honest! Now the teacher wants them to be dishonest. You may consider on letting the teacher know she (he?) is teaching them to be hypocritical and dishonest. They know what their family looks like, not the teacher!

Why bother showing the world what your family looks like if they all are wearing clothing? What is it, a fashion show? You are NOT mannequins (a.k.a "dummies")! You are humans created in the IMAGE and LIKENESS of God! Just what part of God are they ashamed of? And because of Jesus Christ, we are now BACK in the grace and presence (Eden) of God as we were in the beginning! Jesus was not called the Second Adam without a reason! (See The Second Adam.

Sorry, here I go preaching again!

Awesome kids!

BTW, just wanted to say "BRRRRRRRRR"!!!! That sounds cold! My wife wouldn't think of doing that at all, let alone asking the kids to do it! She'll go nude, but the snow thing.....yipes! (I want to try it someday)

Awewome Family!

Great story. "Cold bodies--Warm hearts", or something like that. I know it warmed my heart. Thanks for sharing. My granddaughters like to make snow angels, but well bundled up! Although, I bet they would be up to doing nude snow angels if the idea was suggested. Hopefully we won't find out this year (VA here).

I liked the family picture story. I would be inclined to let it pass. However, Boyd's suggestion to politely tell the teacher that we are made in God's image and likeness and your children have been taught to be unashamed of their bodies has merit.

Warmly,
Tom

PS. Boyd, repeat after me: "I resolve to make a nude snow angel the first time it snows at my new home."

OK, I will:
"I resolve to make a nude snow angel the first time it snows at my new home."

Of course, my new home will be in or around Ocala, Fl. but if it snows I will keep my promise!

Snow Angels

March 17 2004, 3:02 PM

They really are cool to make (pun intended)! We had fun, we laughed and we shivered a little, but I wouldn't have missed it for anything (well maybe I would have traded it for a day in the warm sun). Anyone who has not tried it should put it on their "to do" list. Can't tell if Ken got a real chill last night or just wanted some extra snuggling Barbie

If Jared or Corrine shared this at school today we will probably have to put clothes on our snow angels tonite...

I'm glad you enjoyed doing snow angels.

Would you believe I didn't do any this winter?

We had 2 snows, both very icy. Not nice for doing snow angels.

Been seeing more folks down below at least. Maybe someday I'll see another nude one.

Ralph
