If it takes two [2] wwitnesses to render a decision, how about three [3]??

Because my Father had one in the thirties, I have always been enamored with Indian Motorcyles. Indian motorcycles are very distinctive. They went out of business in 1953.

In 1998, California Motorcycle Company came into existance to build Indian Cycles. The owners were very poor business managers. The company went of business in September of 2003. While Harleys were used in Terminators I and II, Indians were used in Terminator III, 'Rise of the Machines'. California Motorcycle Company failed to captialize on that.

As they say, to make a short story long.

Kevin has discussed his recent 'adventure' [glad to know that you are fairly good shape, all things considered].

Luvnaturism has given witness to the wisdom of his spouse [ER RN's are tough.].

My daughter is a Speech Pathologist and works in a Rehabilitation Hospaital. To say that she 'hit the ceiling', when she heard my description of my other 'birthday present'. The other is a new computer. 'Daddie, doy know how many patients I have who don't know their heads from a hole in the ground? Yes, they wore helmets.'

Now that Indian is no more, the cycles that were still in [former/ex-]dealers' showrooms moved faster than when the Company was still in business.

Yeah. I've purchased an Indian Road Master, a touring/cruiser bike. Now, all I have to do is attend a motorcycle driving school.

Will keep everyone posted, if anyone should be curious.

P. S. I am the original devote coward when it comes to deliberately getting hurt.

P. P. S. The last time I was on a motorcycle, it was in the early sixities. It was a 'kick-start' cycle. Today, motorcycles are electric key-start.

Safe Riding

March 30 2004, 8:23 PM

Hey KuzeN. Excellent decision!

Despite other trips to the 'wild side', I didn't start riding until my late 30s. The first thing I did after deciding to get a bike was to take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation rider's course. After 20+ years, I still use some of the techniques I learned there. It was a great confidence builder in addition to the real value of extra safety. I have somewhat under 50k miles on three bikes; tho I haven't ridden for about three years. I seem to have about a year up on ya, agewise.

Although I have taken trips to nudist resorts on the bikes, I never did ride nude...or ride without a helmet--did go topless, tho . BTW, resorts visited on the bikes: Avalon(WV); Whispering Pines(SC); Bluebonnet(TX); Rock Lodge(TN); Goodland Country Club(NJ); and Sun Meadow(OK).

Safe riding

Check your local community colleges. Many of them have riding classes. Also check with DMV.

BTW, many insurance companies will give you a discount if you take a safety course.

Don't worry much though, it's just like falling off of a ... I mean RIDING!!... a bicycle.

Have fun, be careful

God Bless
k
